Dr. Tomasz Jarzembowski


Tomasz Jarzembowski was born in 1968 in Gdansk, Poland   and currently is an assistant professor at the department of Microbiology, Medical University of Gdansk (GUMed).He obtained Msc and   PhD degree at University of Gdansk (UG). At this time,his studies focus on population biology and ecology.Since 2000 he managed project on molecular biology and started microbiological research at the Department of Microbiology, Medical University of Gdansk. After specialization in microbiology in 2003, for many years he studied   biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance Enterococcal isolates at a single cell level. The ongoing project, managed in cooperation with team of Prof Jacek Witkowski, department of physiopathology, aimed to analyze influence of immunosuppression on Enterococcal flora and risk of infection.Tomasz Jarzembowski is also a member of steering comity of Gdansk branch of Polis Society of Microbiologists. His work in this field result in organization of regional conferences “Pomorskie Spotkania z Mikrobiologia “to facility cooperation of microbiologist on regional level.
