Prof. Mohamed L. Ashour
Dr. Mohamed Lotfy Ashour was graduated at 1996 from Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University with a general grade excellent with honor. He was appointed as teaching assistant in Department of Pharmacognosy, Ain Shams University in the period between 1999 until 2003 at this time he obtained his Master degree in Pharmacognosy. At 2004 he was selected by the Egyptian government through the mission sector to be enrolled as a PhD student at Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology in Heidelberg, Germany. He worked for more than 4 years under the supervision of Professor Dr. Michael Wink. He got his PhD on April 2010. Since that, he conducts his research in pharmacognosy, phytotherapy, phytochemistry at Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Egypt. He worked as 2 post-doctoral fellow at Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology in Heidelberg, Germany on 2012 and Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biosciences, Innsbruck University, Austria On 2016 for 6 months each and he was promoted as an associate professor of pharmacognosy in October 2015. He is the coauthor of more than 35 international publications (research articles, review articles, book chapters). He is a reviewer of more than 25 peer-review journals and an editorial member for 5 international journals. His main research interest in medicinal plants with special emphasis on isolation, structure elucidation and biological screening of secondary metabolites from plants and marine organisms. In addition to application of molecular modelling and multivariate analysis in natural products research.
