Dr. Heena Sharma

Dr Heena Sharma is working as Scientist (LPT) at Dairy Technology Divisiopn, ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana since 2016. She received BVSc & AH degree from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) in 2010 and MVSC degree in Livestock Products Technology from ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute in 2012. From 2010 to 2012, she worked on restructured meat products and investigated several bind enhancing agents for their efficacy and utilization in restructured meat products.  She  received  her  PhD  Degree  in  Livestock  Products  Technology  from  the  same institute in 2015 and worked on enhancement of shelf life of emulsion and fresh meat products using natural and plant based anti-oxidants, as an alternative to synthetic anti-oxidants. Her research interests centre on development of products, food safety aspects, promoting utilization of natural ingredients in food products. She has published around more than 20 papers and abstracts  in  journals  and  conferences.  She  is  also  life-member  of  Indian  Meat  Science Association (IMSA), Indian Poultry Science Association (IPSA) and Indian Society for Sheep and Goat Product and Utilization (ISSGPU).
