Dr. Antonia Pérez de los Ríos
Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Murcia, Spain. Education: Antonia Pérez de los Ríos graduated in Chemistry (2000) and in Chemical Engineering (2004) at the Universidad de Murcia (Spain). She completed her PhD (Chemical Engineering) at the University of Murcia in 2007. Experience: She has vast experience in applying innovative chemical process engineering tools to design sustainable and safe chemical processes based on the use of neoteric solvents (ionic liquids and supercritical fluids), membrane technology and biocatalysis. These technologies made possible the improvement of process efficiencies by reducing waste generation. Publication: Since 2004, 70 papers published in international and Spanish national peer-reviewed journals like Green Chemistry, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Bioresource Technology, Applied Energy, etc. and from different journals from Elsevier, Springer, etc. Patents: She had 1 international and 1 national Spanish patents. Awards: She was awarded with the First National Award in Chemical Engineering by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) in 2006 and with the distinction of Extraordinary Award of Doctorate in the University of 2009. International collaboration: Dr. Pérez de los Ríos has established her own extensive network of international academic and industry collaborations with United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Argelia, Tunisia, Morocco, etc. Editorial Experience: She is editorial board member of four International Journals, guest editor of special issues of two International Journals and she coedited a book from Elsevier. Number of Doctoral Students: 10 predoctoral and 2 posdoctoral students.
