Call for papers:

The emerging climate change concerns coupled with population growth and global economic downturn require a paradigm shift to manage our limited water resources, achieve millennium development goals and ensure security of supply to meet ever increasing water demand for municipal, industrial and agricultural purposes. Water demand management and water efficiency, i.e. doing more with less, are now being seen as an integral part of water resources management strategies. There is a need to not only design, implement and manage resource efficient robust technological solutions but also consider wider social and environmental implications and interactions.

Topic: This special issue cordially solicits papers in, but not limited to, the following areas to address water scarcity issue through water efficiency.

• Water consumption patterns
• Alternative water supply systems
• Water saving technologies
• Water efficiency in buildings
• Municipal and grey water recycling technologies
• Rainwater harvesting
• Energy, carbon, social and economic implications of water demand management options
• Decision support tools for water efficiency
• Implications of water efficiency on water infrastructure
• Water efficiency planning and policy making
• Water efficiency in the context of developing countries

Submission: Manuscript submission deadline is December 31, 2014. Authors who are interested in contributing to the Special Issue of the British Journal of Environment and Climate Change should contact Prof. Fayyaz Ali Memon before December 31, 2014 via email: f.a.memon@ex.ac.uk. The authors may submit their papers as an email attachment to the editorial office at submission@sciencedomain.org . A “cover letter” indicating that the submission is intended for this special issue should be included along with the paper.
