Dr. Miguel Cerqueira
Miguel Ângelo Cerqueira have a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering, (University of Minho), where he worked in the development of biomaterials for food applications, mainly in physicochemical characterization of edible films and coatings and their application in food products. In the last years he worked with the utilization of biomaterials for the development of nanostructures and their applications in the food industry. He is author of 32 papers in peer-review journals, being the first author in 10 of them, 5 book chapters, 3 national papers, 50 publications in congress (being 9 of them proceedings of congress) also his academic carrier is of great value with a classification of 16 values (0-20) during graduation in Biological Engineering where he has won 3 awards for scholar merit. His PhD was approved by unanimity, and his thesis won the award for Best PhD Thesis for the year of 2011 by the Engineering School from the University of Minho.
