Dr. Ernest Baafi
Dr. Ernest Baafi holds a BSc (Hons.) in Agriculture (Crop Science) and MSc in Agronomy (Plant Breeding) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding from the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), University of Ghana. He holds certificates in Agricultural Applied Biotechnology, Leadership, Postharvest Loss Assessment and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Internal Audit. Dr. Ernest Baafi has eight (15) peer reviewed publications in reputable international journals. He has good knowledge and experience in project management and writing of research proposals for funding. He is a member of the CSIR- Research Staff Association (CSIR-RSA) and was the Secretary, Northern Sector, from October 2007 to October 2009. He is also a member of the Ghana Science Association. He serves on a number of institutional and National Committees in Ghana. He is a Research Scientist (Plant Breeder) at the CSIR-Crops Research Institute since 2005. Dr. Ernest Baafi is the Award winner of the Sweetpotato Scientific Excellence And Innovation Award 2017. He had released four taro varieties and co-released two sweetpotato varieties all in 2017. He has previously been a co-release of two cassava and one sweetpotato varieties in 2003.
