I received my Ph.D. degree in internal diseases of animals at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice (Slovak Republic) where I have focused on the evaluation of the diagnostic use of acute phase proteins in large animals and their possible application in the diagnostic, prevention and treatment of animal diseases. I am working in the area of clinical biochemistry and laboratory diagnosis, and the evaluation and introduction of some novel biomarkers of health and diseases into the veterinary medicine, their practical usefulness and contribution to the laboratory diagnosis. Topics of interest include analysis of serum protein profile, including serum protein electrophoretic pattern, high resolution electrophoresis, and analysis of individual serum proteins in animals, especially farm animals. I am co-worker and coordinator of several research projects funded by the Slovak Research and Development Agency and the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.
